Login as Client

Logging in as a client lets you access the portal exactly as they see it. This is useful for troubleshooting issues, verifying what a client has access to, or helping them complete a task.

How to log in as a client

  1. Go to Clients and find the client

  2. Click Sign in on their profile

  3. You’ll be redirected to the portal, logged in as that client

  4. When you’re done, click Back to admin from the user menu to return to your admin session

Your original admin session is preserved — you’re not actually logging out. Clicking "Back to admin" restores your session instantly.

Who can use this

This feature follows a permission hierarchy to prevent privilege escalation:

  • Admins can log in as staff members and clients

  • Account managers can log in as clients only

  • Staff members cannot use this feature

No one can log in as a user with a higher role than their own.

Common uses

  • Troubleshooting — See exactly what a client sees to diagnose issues

  • Submitting forms on behalf of a client — Complete intake forms or onboarding when the client provides info over email or phone

  • Verifying permissions — Check that a client can see the right services, orders, and pages

  • Placing orders — Purchase services on a client’s behalf
