Dunning

When a recurring payment fails, Wayfront automatically emails the customer and notifies your team. The subscription is marked as Past Due until the payment issue is resolved.

SPP failed payment email notification

The customer will receive an email notification with the reason their payment failed. For Stripe subscriptions, the email includes a unique link to update their payment method or pay directly – no login required. For PayPal subscriptions, the email asks them to verify their payment method in PayPal.

SPP client payment method update

If the subscription is past due, the link takes the customer directly to a payment page where they can settle the outstanding balance. Otherwise, updating the payment method allows Stripe to retry the charge automatically on its next scheduled attempt. Wayfront sends a new email notification for each failed retry.
