Scope of Work (SoW)
A document that defines the specific deliverables, quantities, timelines, and boundaries of a project, establishing what is and isn't included in the agreed work.
Example
Before starting a content retainer, an agency provides a scope of work specifying: 8 blog posts per month, 2 rounds of revisions each, SEO optimization included, but stock images and distribution not included. When the client requests additional social posts, the agency references the SoW to discuss a change order.
